Circopav Training Week 3 – November 4–8, 2024

Circopav hosted its third Training Week, bringing together Doctoral Candidates (DCs) for a week of enriching activities and academic development.
Key Activities:
Site Visits:
- Quarry and Binder/Emulsion Plant Tour: DCs visited an EIFFAGE quarry, where the director provided an in-depth tour detailing the material acquisition process used in research. They also toured a mixing plant to observe material preparation.
- Laboratory Visit: At the EIFFAGE Research Center, DCs explored laboratory protocols, examined patented products, and learned about their unique characteristics.
Technical Training:
- Hands-on sessions and insights into advanced research techniques were conducted at the EIFFAGE Research Center.
Doctoral Candidate Presentations:
Dates: Tuesday, November 5, and Wednesday, November 6, 2024
Content: Each DC presented their progress, including:
- Training completed
- Ongoing publications
- Completed courses
- Current research status and future directions
- These presentations were followed by rigorous Q&A sessions with the Steering Committee and Supervisory Board.
Lectures on Advances in Transport Networks: A full day was devoted to expert-led lectures on critical topics:

- «Is Transport Congestion an Endless Plague?»
- «Extraction of Structural Modal Characteristics from Ambient Noise Measurement»
Networking Dinner:
A special dinner was held for all participants, providing an opportunity to foster connections, share experiences, and reflect on the week’s activities in a relaxed and collegial environment.
Highlights:
The presentations by the DCs were a standout feature of the week, showcasing their progress and research ambitions. The event provided a platform for intellectual exchange and critical feedback, fostering growth and innovation within the Circopav program.
